Lab Power Supply 0-24V 0-3A – Update

The panel meter pcb almost finished.

Galvawisp – Update

The downside of this programmer is that it can’t give power to the connected circuit. Then I made this small pcb with 2 15p SUB-D connectors. With this pcb it is possible to power the circuit and the programmer trough the icsp connection.

Lab Power Supply 0-24V 0-3A – Update

Today I made the front panel. It is printed on photo paper and glued to the front. The result:

The ZN458A diode’s where hard to get. Then I got a tip from Sine, he used the TS431 as a replacement part. I’m receiving those tomorrow, so I can complete this power supply.

This circuit comes in the place of the ZN458A:

CNC drill/mill machine V2 – Electronics Part – Update

The capacitors in the previous update can handle max 40V. I didn’t think it was enough because the power supply delivers 36V. Therefore I bought 4 new capacitors of 4700µF 50V and mounted them on a pcb:Voeding

I’ve cut the back of an old pc power supply to close the back of the case. Now I have a power connector and fan to at once :).

Lab Power Supply 0-24V 0-3A – Update

Today I received the zener ic’s, and soldered them in. The power supply is now finished.

Etching Tank Heating – Update

I got a few questions about my etching tank, so I decided to take some pictures:
Etshoek

The etching tank is build from 2 ice-cream boxes:
etsbak

The bottom box is filled with water, so the etching fluid heats “au bain marie”.

To keep the etching fluid in movement I made a stirring machine from an old walk-man and a handyvac.

Zener-tester

I was tired of searching a resistor and building a small circuit each time I had to test a zener diode, so I build this zener tester in an old project box.
Zener tester schema

D1 is the diode under test

D2, D3, D4 are put in to protect the volt meter, because the range of the meter is limited to 30V.

Function Generator – Update

Today I made the output amplifier.

The voltage regulators:
Uitgangsversterker
The transformer (2x 15V):

Opamps + cmos switch:

I couldn’t find a 50 Ohm 5W resistor to put in series with the output. Luckily my supplier came with the idea to use 2 100 ohm resistors in parallel.

IN-12 Nixie Clock

Some time ago I decided to build a nixie clock. Robert will do the design of the clock. Because he uses AVR microcontrollers I already made an AVR programmer.

For the nixie clock I have made a “high voltage” power supply. This is based on the well known circuit, but I adapted it with an enable input.

Schema

(If the enable pin is high the power supply stops, the pin can be left floating without problems)
